Changes I would make to education
From a very young age, every child has a dream to do something big and differ from the rest. I believe that one way that every child can achieve that is through educating them, not only about the ABCs but also more about "real-life". For instance when I was younger, I didn't really understand much about technology and I would always have difficulty doing even the smallest of things such as sending an email or even logging on to the famous Poptropica. And since no one had ever really taught me important computer fundamentals, when I entered high school, I had a very challenging time. Since high school demands so many essays to be formatted a certain way or for presentations to be done online instead of the good ol' poster board I was use to, I had a lot of learning to do. Multiple endless nights trying to learn things on my own as deadlines loomed closer and closer. So perhaps if we can educate more children on technological applications, and how to use them, when they arrive to high school, they wont have such a difficult time.
Changes I would make in education
The changes I would make in education may not be popular. In our 21st Century learning age, the reliance on technology is paramount. However, "old fashioned learning" should never be discarded. For instance, the ability and passion for reading seems to have taken a backseat to abbreviations and quick dialogue. Popular dialogue now consists of 255 characters.
A famous quote that is often times repeated is "if we fail to learn where we came from, we are destined to repeat how we arrived here". I have long loved history and relish in depth reading concerning it from old books. Technology can never roll back the vast avenues it has opened, but it cannot connect with that special part of how we learned before it became the standard.
I would change education in a manner to reinforce the power of reading and non-abbreviated writing. The value in full written communication that transcends generations and is understood by all. Yes, it would be boring to some. However, it is a necessity and sometimes what is necessary is not popular.

Changes I would make in education!
"Changes to Education"
I would create a system of authentic learning, that would allow for student autonomy and exploration. Students would be given the opportunity to become more creative in their learning.
changes I would make in education
we need more ways to have students and teachers alike bridge a connection in respect and motive to allow learners to thrive in the way we learn by having a better understanding of one another. raise the youth up to understand and comply with our adults.

I feel like for education to be successful. There has to be a strong family unit in place that can support and encourage the individual. This is essential to break the past failures of past societies!
Cheyenne: Changes I Would Make to Education
A change that I personally would make to our educational system is that I would add more creative aspects within creating assignments and doing school work. Often times we tend to get caught up in going through the motions and focusing on the basic book work rather than bringing in creative projects and more individualized work. I feel that a student is more likely to shine in what they are doing if they are able to express it in a way that fits them rather than taking a test or writing an essay. I personally would enjoy the incorporation of creativity because I feel that I would succeed greatly in expressing my opinions about different topics.
Changes I would make in Education
One change that I would definitely make to education would easily be mentoring programs. I think it is very important to make sure kids learn but more importantly understand material that they are being taught. Yes there are tutorials before and after school that are very helpful but I feel that schools should take things a step forward when offering help for students, especially those in sports, different UIL programs, or most importantly just need alot of help!
The Changes I Would Make to Education
Making changes to the current educational system would be a monumental task. However, with proper funding the task may be a little less overwhelming. Unfunded programs that are mandated by federal and state regulations are difficult, if not impossible to maintain without the proper funding. The changes that I would make to the educational system would be to fully fund mandated unfunded programs for school districts in the state of Texas.

Two words - FINE ARTS
Research has found that students involved in creative activities, such as music, art, and theater achieve higher scores on standardized tests. Additionally, these students learn how to manage their time in regards to practice, studying, and completing a multitude of tasks in a given time frame.
While the sciences and math courses are extremely important courses that all students should take, providing an opportunity for students to learn creativity through arts courses, students learn how to become self-sufficient learners. These individuals are then capable of tacking a myriad of challenges presented to them.
Changes I Would Make to Education
Finances and budgeting are a big part of the life of an average adult. By providing multiple courses for high school students that teaches them how to manage finances, spend smartly, and budget they would be better prepared for life in the real world. They would be able to better understand loans and buying houses and cars as well as other important financial aspects of life. I feel like these students would also feel better about living independently and not be as afraid of their future. Personally, I know that I do not know much about the financial side of life, and it's a pretty terrifying feeling. By having these courses I, along with other students, would then have more confidence and knowledge, making us a better asset to society. It would also give them an advantage if they are wanting to pursue a career in financing. The needed skills would be taught to them earlier than if they took the courses in college, which would then allow for even more improvement and learning once they attend college.

Changes I would make in education.
Education, above all, is about leveling the playing field in regard to future abilities in the general populace. Rewarding and placing great emphasis on interaction between students, faculty and administration is a method which would facilitate a greater understanding of what is needed to further actualize a more efficient educational system, and allowing those who are in the system to have one of the most important parts of American societal values , the equality of opportunity. With this in mind, the change which I believe would make the greatest difference is an organization, made up of students, which allows for greater interaction between the educators and the educated, giving those who would not normally have a say in what goes on in their lives, further involving them in the democratic process which forms the core of America, and removing the perceived iron curtain of administration involvement in student affairs.

Changes I Would Make To Education
This is such a loaded question...
If I could make one change to education it would be to provide more embedded time for exploration and wonder. I fear that we are raising a generation of students who do not have the skills to dig deep into a problem and find a solution.
There are many factors that stifle this opportunity to grow through questioning but the most prominent is the amount of time spent standardize testing. To be clear, I am a believer in accountability. The challenge should be in finding ways to assess the knowledge and growth of our students to make it clear that we are truly educating our students without all of the high stakes testing.
This is my hope for public education.

Changes I Would Make in Education
The change I would make in education is to encourage authentic learning to create relevant learning experiences. Making connections to industry professionals is one way to bring learning to life. For example, if students are working on developing HTML code, they may require insights that an expert in coding can answer. Building a network of mentors and connections is key to building #futureready students. This is one tiny change that can enhance learning in the classroom.

Changes I Would Make in Education
I believe that students need to have more unstructured time. One of the challenging aspects of our current educational system is that from student's entry point in kindergarten throughout High School, each moment of the school day is structured by an outside force (teachers, school district, state requirements). Very often this results in students having very little choice in their education which leads to students feeling disengaged. Current research stresses the importance of creativity and critical thinking for future success. Those persons who rise to the top of their field will require expertise in the soft skills of communication, collaboration, problem-solving - not necessarily technical skill. We must find some way to allow students to have time to develop their strengths and interests and make learning meaningful every day.
